Values are expressed as mean ± SD. The rats subjected to pMCAO + vehicle showed significantly (P < 0.05) lower grip strength scores at all time points as compared to sham + vehicle rats. PROG-treated rats showed significantly (P < 0.05) improved average scores at all time points (24, 48, 72 h post-injury) compared to pMCAO plus vehicle-treated animals.
