Fig. 4. — Changes in the activities of SOD (A), APX (B), and CAT (C) during ageing. SOD, APX, and CAT activities were measured spectrophotometrically according to Dhindsa et al. (1980), Nakano and Asada (1981), and Claiborne (1985), respectively. The RSA (D) was measured according to Miller et al. (2000) using a stable free radical (DPPH) which reacts with antioxidants present in the tubers. Three independent measurements were performed for each point of the kinetics. Presented data are means ±SD. Means sharing the same letter were not statistically distinct using the Newman and Keuls test.
