L-arginine was added into the refolding buffer containing 50 mM NaCl, 200 μM NADP⁺, 10 mM DTT, 40 μM PEG 3350 in 50 mM Tris, pH 8.0 to reach final concentrations of Arg from 0 to 700 mM. The refolding mixture was incubated at 25°C. Activity was monitored over several days and the final regain of G6PD activity is recorded.
