UV/vis absorption spectra of species formed upon reaction of DF variants with O2. Peptide concentration was 100 μM anaerobically incubated with 200 μM ferrous iron prior to reaction with an equal volume of O2 saturated buffer. Spectra were collected allowing the reaction to progress 2 s for DFsc and 1 s for all other variants.
