Average dimensions and LH2 complex content of the patches measured Nine patches of membrane were measured, and the number of LH2 complexes was estimated. The area covered by the LH2 complexes was calculated and compared with the actual area of the patch, the difference being assigned to lipid. Assuming that the original vesicle was a sphere, the diameter was calculated from the area of the patches.
