Passive-tension–length relations of slow (A) and 2A (B) diaphragm fibers from patients with (triangles) and without (squares) chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Passive tension generated by fibers from patients with COPD was lower at all fiber lengths and in both fiber types compared with that of fibers from patients without COPD.
