LPS administration resulted in a large increase in the protein carbonyl content of a 30-kD protein (shown by arrow, p < 0.001 for group mean data). PEG-SOD administration prevented this increase; p < 0.002 for comparison of LPS to the LPS + PEG-SOD group.
