Blocking of binding: domains immobilized on BioPlex beads were preincubated with pooled US non-immune plasma (NI) or pooled immune plasma from adult patients living in malaria endemic area, then allowed to bind with ICAM1. Reversal of binding: domains immobilized on beads were allowed to bind to ICAM1, and then treated with indicated sera. Binding was normalized to the binding obtained with beads pre-incubated with buffer before reaction with ICAM1 (100%). Error bars indicate standard deviations of duplicate measurements. Similar results were obtained in 3 independent experiments.
