Hydrogen production using cultured yeast media as a substrate. E. coli were grown anaerobically in a closed environment on the spent media of different yeast strains (PSY580a, wild type; PSY3646, ΔFDH1 ΔFDH2; PSY3649, PFL and AdhE). Hydrogen was assayed from the headspace. The error bars indicate standard deviations of three replicates.
