Intraperitoneal injection of 500 mg⋅kg⁻¹ gentamicin sulfate initially suppressed emissions at all frequencies. Recovery commenced within 24 hr and was essentially complete by day 10. The nine peaks originally observed at frequencies above 1.3 kHz were also present at day 10 but had shifted to higher frequencies.
