Exoribonuclease activity assay of the HP1248 protein. A total of 1.0 pmol labeled HP1192 RNA was incubated with 0.05 mg HP1248 for the times indicated and then separated by 20% denaturing polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. The control reactions were carried out with the HP1248 protein D231N mutant (M) for 30 min and E. coli RNase R (E) for the times indicated.
