DCs maintain T-cell priming potency in vivo during hypercholesterolemia. Splenic CD11c⁺ DCs from high-fat (HF) animals were equipotent to controls ex vivo in eliciting a proliferative response (A) and IFN-γ and TNF-α release in supernatants (B) in coculture. T-cell proliferation and cytokine release were unaltered also when stimulated by CD4⁺CD11c⁺ DCs (C and D), CD8⁺CD11c⁺ DCs (E and F), and plasmacytoid CD11c^lo DCs (G and H) exposed in vivo to hypercholesterolemia.
