Amino acid alignment of mosquito SCP-2 proteins. Ae. aegypti SCP-2 (AeSCP-2: AAO34708). Identical residue at a given position is marked by a star under the sequence. Conservative substitution of residue at a given position is marked by a dot or double dots under the sequence. The alignment was prepared with the program CLUSTALW version 1.8 (Thompson et al. 1994). An. gambiae SCP-2 (AnSCP-2: ENSANGP00000020493). Cx. pipiens quinquefasciatus (CxSCP-2: AY196002). Red residues directly coordinate the carboxyl group of palmatic acid (Dyer et al. 2003). Yellow residues directly interact with the acyl chain of palmatic acid (Dyer et al. 2003).
