NF-κB activation in the intestine after I/R injury in Ptx3^−/− and wild-type mice. Mice were sham operated (Sh) or subjected to ischemia (60 minutes) and reperfusion (30 minutes) injury of the superior mesenteric artery (I/R). Samples were collected and processed for extraction of nuclear proteins for Western blot analysis, as described in the Materials and Methods. A: Nuclear extracts (20 μg) were fractioned on 10% sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, transferred onto nitrocellulose membrane, and then probed with anti-p65 antibody. Results shown are representative of at least three experiments with each tissue. B: Densitometric analysis by using LabImage software.
