SDS-PAGE analysis of purified enzymes of the UDP-d-ManNAc3NAcA biosynthesis pathway. Each protein was engineered with an N-terminal hexahistidine tag and overexpressed in E. coli. Predicted molecular masses were 50.3, 39.3, 40.2, 22.7, and 40.2 kDa for His6-WbpA, His6-WbpB, His6-WbpE, His6-WbpD, and His6-WbpI, respectively. A total of 2 μg of each protein was loaded, and the gel was stained with SimplyBlue™.
