Representative Western blot and densitometry of Na+/K+-ATPase in low-protein injured insoluble fractions. Cytoskeletal pellets isolated from controls or from low-protein rat renal outer stripe of the outer medulla were resuspended in their own supernatant (NPs/NPi and LPs/LPi, respectively); another aliquot of low protein cytoskeletal pellet was resuspended in control supernatant (NPs/LPi). These mixtures were incubated, and repeated Triton extraction was performed. Statistical analysis from three experiments confirmed the increased Triton extractability of Na+/K+-ATPase (sol/insol Na+/K+-ATPase ratio) in LPs/LPi vs. NPs/NPi (***p < 0.001) and NPs/LPi vs. NPs/NPi (***p < 0.001).
