Catalase latency represents peroxisomal catalase, calculated as described (5). For determination of P12/UV or P9OH/UV resistance, 200 or 1 × 105 cells were inoculated into 60-mm dishes and selected (4). The numbers of colonies were counted in duplicate experiments and expressed as percentages of that of unselected control.
