Root growth of the wild type (WT), the stop1 mutant, and a transgenic stop1 mutant carrying CaMV35S∷AtALMT1. Seedlings were grown hydroponically in Al toxic solution containing 2 μm Al at pH 5.5. Culture solution was renewed every 2 d, and relative root length (percentage of the root growth in the absence of Al) was determined at 7 d.
