Time-course for the uptake of radioactivity into skull (∇), jaw (◊), thalamus (□) and putamen (△) after the intravenous injection of [18F]SP203 (663 ± 58 μCi) to rat. Each data point represents mean ± SD values from three animals. Deep gray matter structures were chosen to illustrate brain uptake while avoiding spill-over contamination from the radioactivity of the skull. Extensive radiodefluorination is evident by the continuous accumulation of radioactivity (%SUV) in the skull and jaw.
