Control (+/+) mice (A) exhibit normal glomerular histoarchitectures, whereas massive increases in extracellular matrix (ECM) are seen in the mutants (B). TEM of normal (C) and mutant (D) tissues illustrate the increase in specific cellularity and ECM in the mutants.
