One-dimensional H-NMR spectra of V. parahaemolyticus grown in low (200 mM) and high (1,000 mM) NaCl concentrations. The two-dimensional double-filtered quantum coherence and heteronuclear multiple-quantum coherence spectra of these extracts were also measured and compared with the spectrum of purified ectoine (data not shown). This comparison supported the spectral assignments shown.
