WT Nef IW9 and the variant Nef TW9 peptide elicit IFN-γ production in Nef IW9-specifc CTL. Herpesvirus papio-transformed B cells or CD4⁺ T cells pulsed with 10-fold serial dilutions of the IRYPKTFGW (IW9) or TRYPKTFGW (TW9) peptide (5 μg/mL down to 1 pg/mL) were used as APC to stimulate autologous SIV Nef IW9-specific CTL generated from an SIV_mac239-infected rhesus macaque in a 5 h assay.
