The effect of Q2 on the basal (A) and verapamil-stimulated (B) ATPase activity of P-gp was assessed. High Five crude membrane (10 μg) vesicles incubated with or without verapamil (30 μM) and increasing concentrations of Q2 were analyzed for ATPase activity by quantifying the amount of inorganic phosphate release spectrophotometrically. Cyclosporin A (10 μM) and quinine (25 μM) were used as controls.
