Values of r ² _MODEL were estimated for each measure of map quality using (7a) as in Fig. 3 ▶. The true values of r ² _MODEL were then subtracted, yielding prediction errors for each map for each measure of map quality. The correlation coefficients (r ²) of prediction errors among the various measures of map quality are listed.
