Lymphocyte loss was enhanced by neutralization of either TNFα or NO, whereas erythrocyte loss appeared to be slightly reduced by both treatments. The more severe lymphopenia observed in treated animals might be linked to the higher parasite peak resulting from neutralization of either TNFα or NO.
