Effects of pH and temperature on the percentage of dimeric (D) and octameric (O) species of the Sulfolobus solfataricus WT protein as indicated by AUC and GPC (in bold). Experiments were performed in 20 mM sodium phosphate buffers. Samples for AUC were incubated in the rotor for 12 h at 4, 20, and 36 °C, those for GPC were incubated for 2 h at 70 and 80 °C and immediately injected onto the Superdex 200 column.
