Ghrelin induces a depot-specific increase in abdominal WAT. Analysis of fat-only MRI images of rat abdomen after 2-wk iv infusion of vehicle (A; 24 μl/d) or ghrelin (B; 80 μg/d) enabled quantification of total WAT volume (C) and the volumes of superficial sc (D), inguinal (E), mesenteric (F), retroperitoneal (G), and epididymal (H) WAT depots.
