Shown are ECs isolated by magnetic bead sorting with ICAM-2 antibody that were immunofluorescently stained for VE-cadherin to identify them and with DAPI to identify their nuclei. The magnetic beads appear as orange spheres in the image, clustered primarily on the ECs. Also present, however, are cells (within the box) that do not express VE-cadherin, the nuclei of which are detected by DAPI staining. Magnetic beads are also associated with some of these VE-cadherin-negative cells (arrows).
