log PBW was determined experimentally using equation (1) and was converted to POW using equation (2);
conditions: 0.05 M phosphate buffer, 0.1 mM EDTA, pH 7.8, 40 μM xanthine, ~ 2nM xanthine oxidase, 10 μM cytochrome c. The rate of cytchrome c reduction by O2·−, kcyt c = 2.6 x 105 M−1 cm−1 is used for calculation of kcat [44]. The estimated errors are within ±10 %.
