This book is the second updated edition of a book first published in 2001.

The author has reviewed the world plastic surgery literature and chosen the best paper on every subject in plastic surgery, which he then summarizes in point form. The book is very detailed. A resident or plastic surgeon referencing this book would be assured of missing nothing important in reviewing a subject.

There are no diagrams, these being published in the source paper.

Each subject has one paper listed under the heading, presumably the paper the author has chosen as the best on the subject. It would help the student if the complete reference was printed, as only the journal and year is noted, not the number, month and page numbers.

The index is brief, and the reader must turn to the chapter to find individual details, but that is not a deficiency. The book is meant to be read by the chapter to give the student a very full overview of each subject.

In this, the book succeeds very well.

This is an essential book for plastic surgeons wishing an inexpensive and thorough review of plastic surgery.
