Membrane depolarization induces nNOS expression. (A) Northern blot analysis of nNOS. E15–16 cortical cultures were depolarized with 50 mM KCl. A probe to β-actin was used indicate that an equivalent amount of RNA was loaded in each lane. This experiment was replicated three times with similar results. (B) Western blot analysis of nNOS protein. nNOS isoform α (nNOSα) was detected with an antibody to C-terminal nNOS. β-Tubulin was used to indicate that an equivalent amount of protein was loaded in each lane. This experiment was replicated three times with similar results.
