Grey symbols represent TE of DNA complexes of ternary DOTAP/DOPC/cholesterol lipid mixtures with constant ΦDOTAP = 0.3. Different symbol shapes correspond to different Φcholesterol (cf. legend). (B) The TE for the ternary DOTAP/DOPC/cholesterol lipid mixture (ΦDOPC + Φcholesterol = 0.7), plotted as a function of Φcholesterol. The increase of TE with Φcholesterol is essentially exponential.
