None of the missense mutations affect nuclear localization, in contrast to the 219insG frameshift that abrogates translocation. (B) Western blot analyses of nuclear and cytoplasmic extracts from transfected COS7 cells with α-Myc antibody. 219insG and small amounts of some missense mutant proteins predicted less stable than wild-type could be detected in the cytoplasmic fractions.
