(A) GST pulldown assays were performed in which GST or GST-UL44 fusion proteins were incubated with radiolabeled UL84 and passed over a glutathione column. The GST fusion proteins used in each reaction are noted below the figure. The input (I) and protein eluted by glutathione (E) from each reaction are shown. (B) GST pulldown assays were repeated as described for panel A. Radiolabeled UL54 and UL84 were passed over a glutathione column in the presence and absence of a peptide corresponding to the extreme carboxyl terminus of UL54.
