ECE-2 mRNA from SH-SY5Y neuroblastoma cells was measured by RT-PCR after treatment with both monomeric and oligomeric Aβ1–42. The ECE-2 (2−ΔΔCt) values represent the fold difference in ECE-2 mRNA level in treated cells over control cells. The geometric mean and 95% confidence intervals are shown. Gene expression was found to be reduced after 4 hours treatment, and increased after 24 hours treatment, with both species of Aβ1–42.
