Effect of cisplatin and TW-37 on apoptosis and cell cycle of endothelial or head and neck tumor cells. A, Cells were exposed to cisplatin and/or TW-37. After 72 hours, cells were stained with propidium iodide and subjected to flow cytometry for the analysis of the proportion of apoptotic cells (sub-G₀/G₁). Asterisk (^*) depicts that the combination regimen is significantly higher than any of the single drug (cisplatin or TW-37) regimen by itself (P<0.05). B, Cells were treated as in panel A, stained with propidium iodide, and the percentage of cells in each cell cycle phase was determined by flow cytometry.
