Reaction force versus displacement curves resulting from the simulations of T1 and T2 root pattern types in soil types S1 and S2. Reaction forces were computed in the stem at the point where a horizontal displacement was imposed, i.e. at a height of 8·0 m from the soil surface. The maximum displacement considered in the simulations was 1·0 m in S1 and 3·0 m in S2.
