Optical force calibration. The optical force changes linearly with the laser intensity. The error bars show the mean ± standard error (SE) obtained from 11 independent measurements. For each measurement, 400 image frames were acquired at a frame rate of 100 fps for nine different laser intensities. The bandwidth of the measurements is limited by the thermal fluctuations of the trapped microsphere to ∼0.1 s.
