NKCC2 protein abundance was assessed using SDS-PAGE and immunoblot from medulla and cortex of control rats and rats whose mothers were administered prenatal dexamethasone. Prenatal dexamethasone did not cause a statistically significant increase medullary NKCC2 protein abundance in the offspring.
