Shown to be a functional phage. The others were identified as P22-like prophages in the bacterial genome sequence. Additional details of the prophages will be published later. Some prophages such as APSE-1 and APSE-2 produce virion-like particles that have not yet been propagated.

The phage gene names are shown, and the GenBank locus_tags are given for the prophages. Locus-tags allow the reader to access the gene and protein sequences.

The N-terminal and C-terminal domain boundaries were estimated as described in the legend for figure 1. The number of heptads was determined by homology with the P22 gp26 protein and by inspection of fit to the consensus.
