Sprn mRNA expression. cDNA was prepared from the whole brains of uninfected 6-8-week-old male mice or mice at the terminal stages of disease following intracerebral inoculation with Chandler/RML mouse-adapted scrapie prions. All samples were duplexed for Sprn (Fam-label) and an endogenous control, GAPDH, β-actin, or Thy-1 (Vic-label). Samples were run in triplicate with n = 6 for each mouse strain/group (except CBA where n = 3 and NZW-RML where n = 5). Mean ± SEM.
