Estimated BMI z-scores over time for three levels of MPH doses. Subjects who had a baseline BMI within 1 month before the onset of risperidone treatment, at least 3 BMI observations before or 3 after risperidone initiation, and who had never been treated with antipsychotic medications, other than risperidone, were included in this analysis (n = 61). They were divided into three subgroups based on their average daily dose per kilogram of body weight of psychostimulants. While there was no change to a minor change in BMI z-score prior to risperidone initiation, all three groups equally gained weight after treatment outset.
