Effect of pH, temperature and lipid system on the secondary structure of rBPI21. rBPI21 was dissolved in phosphate buffer (pH 6.5 or 7.4), at 25°C or 37°C, to a final concentration of 7.7 μM with or without added lipid (0.1 mM). CD spectra of rBPI21 in (a) buffer solution, and in interaction with (b) POPC/POPG/DAHP or (c) POPC/POPG/LPS membranes both at pH 6.5 and 7.4, and T = 25°C and 37°C.
