There is a gradually increasing production of TGFBIp and CLU in the centers of guttae. TGFBIp accumulates in close proximity to the Descemet’s membrane, while CLU forms aggregates on top of the TGFBIp deposits at the endothelial cell level. Both TGFBIp and CLU co-localize in the middle of the guttae (circular insert).
