Figure 7

Effects of environmental pH on release of cefazolin and MB from polypeptide multilayer nanofilms. Cefazolin was released in PBS solutions of pHs 7.0, 9.0, and 10.0 for 48 h, and MB was released in PBS solutions of pHs 4.0, 5.0, and 7.0 for 48 h. Cefazolin was released from (PLL/PLGA)20 nanofilms that were assembled at pH 10.0 and loaded with cefazolin at pH 7.0 for 20 min. MB was released from (PLL/PLGA)20 nanofilms that were prepared at pH 4.0 and loaded with MB at pH 7.0 for 20 min.

Abbreviations: MB, methylene blue; PBS, phosphate-buffered saline; PLGA, poly-l-glutamic acid; PLL, poly-l-lysine.
