Release profiles of (a) cefazolin and (b) MB from polypeptide multilayer nanofilms. Both cefazolin and MB were released at pH 7.0. Cefazolin was released from PLL/PLGA multilayer nanofilms that were assembled at pH 10.0 and loaded with cefazolin at pH 7.0 for 20 min. MB was released from PLL/PLGA multilayer nanofilms that were prepared at pH 4.0 and loaded with MB at pH 7.0 for 20 min. The inset presents the release, up to 336 h, of cefazolin from (PLL/PLGA)₂₀ nanofilms.
