(A) Particles label the nucleoplasm and appear subjacent to the nuclear envelope facing nucleopores; arrowheads in bottom inset point to a pore complex with the characteristic cytoplasmic fibril ring (see also Supplementary Fig. 2). Low immunoreactivity in the cytoplasm marks smooth endomembranes and cisterns of the rough endoplasmic reticulum (rer; arrowheads in top inset).
