IP-10 causes endothelial cell death. HMEC-1 cords were treated with IP-10 (600 ng/ml), A23187 (2 μM) or Camptothecin (3 μM) from 4 to 36 hours. The cells were fixed, permeabilized and immunostained using fluorescence antibodies against activated caspase 3 (green). Nuclei were stained with PI (red). Significant caspase activation was observed with IP-10 treatment after 24 hours when cord dissociation has already occurred. Representative data from three experiments are shown.
