Effect of ɛ-aminocaproic acid (EACA) and plasminogen on vascular growth and regression. Angiogenesis in collagen gel cultures of rat aorta (peak of vessel growth) was slightly stimulated by plasminogen, whereas the plasmin inhibitor EACA had no effect (A). Neither EACA (300 μg/ml; B) or plasminogen (200 μg/ml; C) had any effect on the rate of vascular regression when added to cultured medium following angiogenesis.
