The anorexigenic and antidipsogenic actions of nesfatin-1 are blocked by pretreatment with SHU9119. Pretreatment with the melanocortin-3/4 receptor antagonist, SHU9119 (300 pmol, icv) abrogated the effect of nesfatin-1 on both food intake (A) and water drinking (B) in ad libitum-fed and watered rats.
